Product Overview

Long March Feeders: gentle handling of parenteral products

Our servo-controlled Long March feeder gently places glass containers into blisters or environmentally friendly tray – for the safe secondary packaging of Oral liquid, vials, ampoules and cartridges.

HIGHNOW Long March Feeder integrates micro-step transportation and vacuum cup technology for gentle handling of oral liquids, vials, and ampoules at 1,500-2,000 blisters/min. Its precision servo system achieves ±0.1mm positioning accuracy, while medical-grade silicone vacuum cups (8mm diameter) maintain 25-40kPa negative pressure to prevent container deformation. The ergonomic design reduces operator fatigue with adjustable height (750-1100mm) and intuitive HMI with 10" touchscreen. Constructed with 316L stainless steel, it meets cGMP/EMA standards and features tool-less changeover (<15 minutes) between 12+ product formats. Energy-efficient brushless motors reduce power consumption by 25% vs. pneumatic feeders, making it ideal for sustainable pharmaceutical packaging lines.

Resolving Your Questions About Long March Feeder
Our After-sale Service

We offer after-sales support to keep your production going.

This includes online advice 24/7, on-site commissioning, GMP guidance, fast response and plenty of spare parts.

How does micro-step transportation improve positioning accuracy?

The feeder uses a 200-step/rev motor with 10-microstep Segmentation (2,000 steps/rev), achieving 0.18° angular resolution. This translates to linear positioning precision of ±0.1mm across the 300mm transfer path, verified via laser interferometry (ISO 230-2).

What vacuum pressure range is optimal for different container types?

Glass vials: 35-40kPa (prevents slipping) • Plastic ampoules: 25-30kPa (avoids deformation) • Oral liquid bottles: 30-35kPa (balances grip and release) Pressure is adjustable via HMI with 1kPa increments and stored in product recipes.

What is the mean time between failures (MTBF) of the vacuum system?

Based on 12 months field data from 32 installations, MTBF for the vacuum pump and cups is 6,800 operating hours. The system includes predictive maintenance alerts for cup wear (>0.2mm thickness loss).

How does the feeder handle container variations (e.g., neck diameter tolerance)?

The adaptive vacuum control system compensates for ±0.5mm diameter variations by adjusting cup stroke (5-15mm) and dwell time (100-300ms), ensuring consistent grip force across production batches.

What safety certifications does the feeder comply with?

CE marked (EN 61010-1), cGMP (21 CFR Part 211), EMA Annex 1 (2023), and ISO 13485:2016. Safety features include dual-channel E-终止, interlock guards, and vacuum loss detection (<10kPa pressure drop triggers shutdown).

How many product recipes can the HMI store?

The feeder stores up to 100 recipes, including vacuum pressure, micro-step parameters, and transfer speed. Recipe changes take <30 seconds via one-touch recall, reducing changeover time by 40% vs. manual setups.

What is the energy consumption compared to pneumatic feeders?

At 1,800 blisters/min, power consumption is 1.2kW (brushless servo) + 0.3kW (vacuum pump) = 1.5kW total, 25% lower than pneumatic systems (2.0kW average) – saving $1,200/year in electricity costs (based on $0.15/kWh).

What is the payback period for vacuum cup replacement?

Vacuum cups (P/N: VC-08-SIL) cost $12 each and last 1.2M cycles. For 10M units/year, annual replacement cost is $100, offset by 0.05% reduction in product damage ($5,000/year) – net payback of 2.4 months.

How to calibrate the vacuum pressure sensors?

Calibration uses a digital manometer (0-100kPa) with NIST-traceable certification. The procedure involves: Connecting manometer to test port Setting target pressure via HMI Adjusting potentiometer until manometer matches HMI reading (±1kPa tolerance)

What spare parts are recommended for critical inventory?

Essential spares: vacuum cups (10 pcs), micro-step motor drive (1 pc), pressure sensor (1 pc), and servo amplifier (1 pc). HIGHNOW offers 48-hour global delivery and on-site installation support for critical components.
